National Centre for Financial Education ("NCFE", "we", "us", or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting information associated with your use of the NCFE Trainer App ("App").
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use the NCFE Trainer App, including information received during authentication, workshop information accessed through the App, photographs and videos captured through the App, location information associated with captured media, and technical information processed through analytics and crash-reporting services.
The NCFE Trainer App is developed and operated by National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE). The App is intended for authorised trainers associated with NCFE programmes and workshops.
The primary purpose of the App is to allow authorised trainers to view workshop information made available to them and to capture and upload photographs and videos associated with those workshops.
Trainer registration, trainer profile management and workshop creation are performed through a separate NCFE web-based system. The NCFE Trainer App does not provide functionality for trainer registration or workshop creation.
The NCFE Trainer App does not provide functionality for collecting or registering a trainer's personal profile information. Trainer registration and profile information are maintained through NCFE's separate web-based system.
However, certain information is processed by the App as part of its normal functionality.
Authorised trainers use a username and password to sign in to the App.
During authentication, the NCFE backend provides the App with the trainer's name and email address associated with the authenticated account. This information is used to identify the authenticated trainer within the App and to provide the appropriate workshop information.
The App does not provide functionality for creating or registering trainer accounts. Trainer accounts are created and managed by NCFE or authorised NCFE administrators through the separate NCFE web-based system.
The App retrieves workshop information from NCFE's backend systems for workshops made available to the authenticated trainer.
Workshop information is used to allow the trainer to identify and select the relevant workshop when capturing workshop photographs and videos.
The App uses the device camera to allow trainers to capture new photographs and videos during workshops.
Captured photographs and videos are uploaded to NCFE's backend systems for workshop documentation, verification, administration, monitoring and reporting purposes.
The App does not provide a facility for selecting existing photographs or videos from the device gallery for this purpose. Workshop media is captured using the App's camera functionality.
The App accesses the device's precise location when workshop photographs or videos are captured.
Location information is associated with the captured workshop media and is used by NCFE to verify that the media was captured at the location where the workshop is taking place.
The App does not continuously collect location information in the background. Location access occurs in connection with the capture of workshop media.
Camera access is required to capture workshop photographs and videos.
Microphone access may be used when recording videos so that audio can be recorded with the video.
The App and its supporting services may process basic technical and device information necessary to operate, maintain, secure and improve the App.

This information is used for application functionality, diagnostics, security, troubleshooting, stability, analytics and service improvement.
The NCFE Trainer App uses certain Firebase services provided by Google to support application analytics and crash diagnostics. The Firebase services currently used by the App are:
Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics may process technical, device and application usage information as required to provide their respective services. Crashlytics may process information such as crash stack traces, relevant application state, device metadata and installation identifiers associated with crash reports.
NCFE uses these Firebase services for its own application analytics, diagnostics and service improvement. NCFE does not use these services for advertising or to sell users' personal information.
Firebase services are provided by Google and may process information on NCFE's behalf in accordance with the configuration of the services and applicable Google and Firebase terms and privacy practices.
Information handled through the NCFE Trainer App may be used for the following purposes:
Information associated with the NCFE Trainer App is stored and processed using NCFE's backend infrastructure hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS), as configured and managed by NCFE.
Workshop photographs, videos, associated location information and information required to support authentication and workshop functionality may be processed by NCFE's backend systems for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Information handled through the NCFE Trainer App is intended for NCFE's authorised purposes.
Access to information, workshop photographs, videos and associated location information is restricted to authorised NCFE personnel and systems that require such access for administration, verification, reporting, technical support, security or other legitimate NCFE purposes.
NCFE does not sell personal information collected or processed through the App.
NCFE does not sell or publicly disclose personal information processed through the App.
Certain technical information may be processed by service providers that support the operation of the App, including Firebase services provided by Google and infrastructure services provided through Amazon Web Services. These services support functions such as analytics, crash diagnostics, hosting and technical infrastructure.
Such service providers process information as necessary to provide services to NCFE and in accordance with the applicable service configuration and agreements.
NCFE may also disclose information where required to do so by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or a lawful request from an authorised governmental or regulatory authority.
NCFE takes reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information processed through the NCFE Trainer App against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction.
Data transmitted between the App and NCFE's backend systems is protected using HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit.
Access to backend systems and information is restricted to authorised personnel and systems based on operational requirements.
While we take reasonable measures to protect information, no method of transmission or electronic storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
NCFE retains information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and in accordance with applicable legal, regulatory, operational, reporting and audit requirements.
Workshop photographs and videos captured through the App are retained for up to one year after capture, unless a longer retention period is required for legitimate reporting, audit, legal, regulatory or compliance purposes.
Location information associated with workshop photographs and videos is retained with the relevant workshop records for up to one year, as it is used to verify that workshop media was captured at the location where the workshop took place.
Trainer registration and profile information is maintained through NCFE's separate web-based system rather than being collected through the mobile App.
Information received by the App during authentication, such as the trainer's name and email address, is handled as necessary to provide authentication and App functionality.
Where a trainer requests deletion, information that is no longer required will be deleted. Certain identifiable trainer information may be retained where reasonably necessary for reporting, audit, record-keeping, legal, regulatory, security or compliance purposes.
Analytics and crash diagnostic information may be retained according to the retention practices of the relevant Firebase services and NCFE's configuration of those services.
Trainer accounts for the NCFE Trainer App are created and managed by NCFE or authorised NCFE administrators through a separate web-based system. Users do not create accounts directly through the App.
A trainer may request deletion of their personal information and associated NCFE Trainer App data by contacting NCFE at:
The request should, where possible, include the trainer's name, registered email address, username or Trainer ID so that NCFE can identify the relevant account and process the request.
Upon receiving a deletion request, NCFE will review the request and delete information that is eligible for deletion in accordance with applicable requirements and NCFE's legitimate operational, reporting, audit, legal and regulatory obligations.
Workshop photographs and videos and their associated location information are normally retained for up to one year. Where these records are no longer required, they are deleted in accordance with NCFE's retention procedures.
Certain identifiable trainer information may be retained after a deletion request where it is reasonably necessary for legitimate reporting, audit, record-keeping, legal, regulatory, security or compliance purposes. Such retained information will not be used for purposes unrelated to those legitimate requirements.
Trainers are responsible for using the NCFE Trainer App only for authorised NCFE activities and for ensuring that they have the appropriate authority to capture and submit workshop photographs and videos.
Trainers should not use the App to submit information that is unrelated to authorised NCFE workshop activities.
The NCFE Trainer App is intended for authorised trainers and is not designed for children to create or manage accounts.
NCFE may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices, applicable laws or regulatory requirements.
When changes are made, the updated Privacy Policy will be published at the same privacy policy URL. The effective date shown at the beginning of this policy will also be updated.
